Leaders can relax in a large comfortable staff room, fully equipped with tea and coffee making facilities. For health and safety reasons there is a no smoking policy within the Centre, and the buildings and grounds have been designated a dog free zone.
On the activity side the Centre maintains a full range of personal and technical equipment. Each student is kitted out with boots, waterproofs and rucsac at the start of each course and a
sluice area and drying room ensure that kit can be kept clean and dry for the next day. Wellies, furry undersuits and protective oversuits are available for caving in addition to the normal helmet and lamp. A detached classroom block adjacent to the Hall provides two large additional teaching areas which can also double as games rooms or dance floor. An on-site SRT training platform, tree and rigging board enable cavers to practice essential ropework safely during technical skills courses, whilst a small adventure playground, swings and climbing frame provide recreation for younger residents.
