Caving Courses - general information
We run technical training courses throughout the year in addition to introductory trips for individuals and families. If you don't find what you are looking for under Technical Training Courses > Training and Assessment (use top menu buttons) please get in touch and we will see what we can arrange for you.
'Bespoke' training and guided trips can be arranged mid-week or weekend, and are specifically geared to your needs. They can be single or multiple days, run as a block or spread over a number of weeks. Experienced, active and nationally qualified instructors ensure that you receive value for money and learn the very latest 'best practice'. Whether it's a first trip underground or rescue training for an alpine expedition we are happy to work with you.
We have a range on on-site training resources available as well as access to a vast number of caves in the Yorkshire Dales. And as the majority of our staff are also active European cavers (with a particularly good knowledge of the Vercors and Dent de Crolles areas in France) we would be more than happy to provide guiding services abroad, or assist with your planning.
All necessary protective clothing and personal equipment, including SRT rigs, can be provided, and you'll have access to changing facilities, showers and secure lockers.
We can also provide schools and organisations with advice on techniques, standards and operating guidelines.
NGB Course dates throughout the year
Dates of our BCA Training and Assessment courses are posted under 'Technical Skills Courses > Training and Assessment'. A range of Local Cave Leader and Cave Instructor Certificate training courses are scheduled throughout the year. Other training course dates can be arranged on demand although we do need a minimum of four (L1) or two (L2) to make them viable. Assessments are arranged 'as and when'; please contact the Centre to discuss your requiremnets.
